This was my first wedding during COVID-19, or just before it actually. The week leading up to Trudy and Zach’s wedding is when everything started really hitting in Missouri. The Monday after, Kansas City went into shelter-in-place.
Nothing was going to hold Trudy and Zach back from getting married though. The whole week leading up, they worked to cut down the guest list, find a new venue, and figure out how to make this resemble their dream wedding they’d been planning for over a year. Ultimately, they got married in Zach’s family’s home, surrounded by 39 of their closest friends and family (down from over 200).
The best moment of the day was when Trudy and Zach walked out of the house after the ceremony and just let it hit them that they made it. Through all the challenges and craziness of Corona, they made it and they were married.
If you’re going through the stress of planning a wedding during COVID, or had to reschedule or change plans, just know it will all be worth it. It won’t be what you dreamed since you were a little girl, but you’ll be MARRIED to the love of your life.
