I thought my hyper-organization and love for weddings meant I would excel as a planner... that's what I originally wanted to be but boy, was I was wrong. My personality is very relaxed, go-with-the-flow, letting things happen naturally so nothing is forced.
Not the best skill-set for a wedding planner, but a really great one for a wedding photographer.
So here we are.
Being able to document people’s happiest day and give them tangible memories they can relive for years warms my soul!

/ˈempaTH/
em·path
someone who is highly aware of the emotions of those around them, to the point of feeling those emotions themselves. Empaths see the world differently than other people; they're keenly aware of others, their pain points, and what they need emotionally.
This may be woo-hooey but *shrugs*
I grew up in a divided home, literally. Splitting time between my parents after their divorce, often being in the middle of their fighting, made me grow into a very empathetic and aware person. It’s become the biggest strength I take with me into wedding days. My documentary style stems from my ability to sense when special moments are about to happen. I am able to sense emotions that aren’t necessarily visible, sense when to come close and when to be a fly-on-the-wall, and sense what/who is important to you therefore important to photograph.
Weddings are all about two people who come from two walks of life and two different families. Having a personally complicated family-dynamic in my life has given me the tools to navigate all kinds of family-dynamics throughout a wedding day, and especially during family formals.
