Photography does not have to feel posed or performative. Celebrating a milestone doesn’t have to come with the “stand there and smile” kind of photos. My approach is rooted in one question: How does it feel to be here? My strength is creating a space where you feel safe to let your moments unfold naturally. I focus on the quiet in-between pieces of your life, the way your family moves together, the way you love your person, and the connection that already exists without direction. Instead of asking you to perform, I invite you to be present.

Otherwise known as the "we just need updated photos" session, the deliberate session is for the more traditional photos. The ones you take deliberately, looking at the camera. I know I went on about the sentimental session but I do know that the smile at the camera photos have their value in your life too. This session is built to focus on the photos you know you want. It's a shorter session because there's no reason it should take longer than 30 minutes to smile at the camera. Said with love and understanding and experience:)
Professional photos but make them a memory you'll love to relive.
At a traditional or deliberate session, your purpose for being there is to take photos. At a sentimental or lifestyle session, your purpose for being there is to spend time with your loved ones. With the added bonus of having those memories captured by me. About 15-20 minutes can be used for the deliberate photos before we get into the real stuff.
You and I will collaborate to plan a session that feels true to who you are, highlights the things you love most about your life/partner/family, and will allow you to relive these moments when you're feeling nostalgic. You will fill out my brainstorming questionnaire, I will pull ideas from what you share with me, and we'll go from there.
