What better way to spend a beautiful spring day than having a picnic engagement session at the lake? Honestly, while I was waiting for Rosa and Ken to arrive for our session I was wondering why I don’t do this more often. It was so nice to get away from technology for awhile, I would love to sit out with a good book and just relax for a day. Something to consider next time you have a day off and are wondering what to do with it! Watch out for swans though, the ones at Shawnee Mission got pretty brave and walked right up to us!

I met Rosa back in college when we were both taking American Sign Language classes. We both took three semesters of ASL, I can’t speak for Rosa, but I sucked at keeping up with it after graduating and have lost most of what I learned. I could still hold a very basic conversation but I really wish I would have stuck with it!

Rosa and Ken met in high school and have been together for 10 years! TEN YEARS! I love high school sweethearts. Ken was in his 22-years-old when he went to Rosa’s senior prom with her, talk about catching an older man! They were telling me a little about their relationship during our session, they’ve been through a lot and have stayed together through it all! I can’t wait to see where their love story takes them!
