Kaitlin and Nathan’s downtown Kansas City engagements were so much fun! We started in the Crossroads District. I’ve had quite a few sessions in this area and have never used the same spot twice. There are so many cool areas around Crossroads. Tons of murals.
I’m not going to pretend I know what character is in that first mural. But Nathan noticed it when we first started and thought it was cool. So it’s now captured for their memories forever!
After walking around near Up Down, we shot over a few blocks to get some beautifully colorful photos at the wall of murals. I love this spot because there’s so much personality in the murals, and so many to choose from.
Kaitlin’s favorite sign in Kansas City is the Western Auto sign. So we carved out a few minutes to stop there. The street has relatively low traffic at the time we went, but if you go please use caution! If you want the sign to be lit, wait until a little after sunset to go.
Our last stop was Liberty Memorial. Their fur baby, Molly, got to join us for a few photos! They were worried about her behaving during the session, but I’ll let you in on a secret. Rarely do dogs behave how we want them to during photos. The trick is to bring toys and treats. I also have a few tricks up my sleeve for getting their attention (i.e. super weird noises). The main thing is to just be prepared for those few seconds where they are behaving perfectly.
Downtown sessions are always so much fun and provide so much variety to choose from. Check out this anniversary session in Crossroads.
