Kayah and Cody’s couple’s photos at Nelson Atkins in Kansas City were so much fun! They currently live in Hawaii but visited Kansas City to see Cody’s family for Thanksgiving. They enjoy traveling so Kayah has “made it a thing” for them to get photos done everywhere they travel. I think it’s such a great idea! What better way to document your memories than to have a professional do it for you? And then you get amazing photos from all the cool places you see.

Kayah and Cody started this tradition on their trip in San Francisco. Kansas City might not have an ocean but we do have some cool museums and beautiful spots around town. When I first started talking with Kayah about the session, he wasn’t sure where to go for the photos. We thought about going to Liberty Memorial, Crown Center, The Plaza, Crossroads or Power & Light district. We brainstormed together to come up with this beautiful and iconic Kansas City location. Getting couple’s photos at Nelson Atkins worked out perfectly. Kayah said he loves the clean and classic look of Nelson Atkins.

During our session, we had the opportunity for a little people watching as we roamed the grounds. One lady was doing an interesting workout circuit on the stairs, even singing a little as she did her workout. Some bystanders also told Kayah and Cody how cute they are, which is true!

Overall, the session was a ton of fun. And now Kayah and Cody will have these couple’s photos at Nelson Atkins to look back on forever. A wonderful way to remember their time in Kansas City!
