Chisholm Creek is my favorite location in Wichita for an engagement session. The park is connected to The Great Plains Nature Center, so the whole area is preserved and offers beautiful Kansas views, as well as special little spaces that don’t feel like Kansas at all! Chisholm Creek Engagement sessions are the best!

There are so many areas to go in this park, but my favorites are the arched tree path (doesn’t even feel like Kansas back there!), the open field next to the evergreen trees when the sun is just above setting, and the paths further back in the nature center that have beautiful open fields where I often see deer and other wildlife. Chisholm Creek is the best spot for an engagement session, but remember to respect the rules of the park so we can keep this beauty available to enjoy.

Erin and Loren’s engagement session at Chisholm Creek was so much fun! Erin has been a good friend of mine since 2013 (how has it been 7 years already?). We were roommates in college for a spell, and workout partners. My husband, Clayton, and her then boyfriend, Kyle, are the best of friends, which is how Erin and I met. Thankfully, we didn’t stop being friends just because she and Kyle didn’t work out. I was so happy when she found Loren, they are a perfect match. Literally perfect.

When you’ve witnessed the not-so-great matches, you can tell when it’s right. It’s especially cool to watch it happen to your friends. Even more amazing when they ask you to document their happiness!

I feel so honored when anyone asks me to document their big moments, but being able to capture them from the inside is the best. Already knowing the people, what they like, what they’re self-conscious about, how they show their love because you’ve seen the relationship grow, it’s really just so special.
