Zavian and Gabby love the view of downtown, so for their engagement photos we roamed around in downtown Kansas City.

Zavian and Gabby both communicated that they’re not the most comfortable in front of a camera. If I’m honest, those are my favorite kinds of couples to work with. I could say that I pull out my bag of tricks to help people be comfortable in front of my camera. But my only trick is to be myself. I’ve found that is the biggest thing that helps couples feel comfortable during our session. You can’t tell that they had any discomfort at all! By the middle of our session, Gabby and Zavian were having fun in their own little bubble and I was just a third wheel that happened to have a camera. We had so much fun roaming downtown Kansas City for their engagement photos.

When we talked about what they want for their engagement photos, Gabby emphasized how much she loves the city landscape. There’s a lot of beautiful places for engagement photos in Kansas City, but this parking garage is my favorite. It’s very unassuming when you drive past it. Which makes it even better, because not many people think to use it for engagement photos.
