Justine and Erin had the most beautiful elopement in Colorado. While Justine and Erin got ready in a mountainside cabin, it looked like rain could pose a threat to their plans. The weather in the mountains can be as fickle as the weather on a tropical island. Rainy and gloomy one minute, sunny and warm the next. Thankfully, Colorado’s weather cleared up in time for their elopement ceremony.
Both Justine and Erin shared first looks with their dads. Justine’s first look was full of happy tears.
Erin’s dad stayed true to his stoic self, but it was very clear how happy and proud of Erin he was.
Justine and Erin chose not to see each other before their elopement ceremony in the mountains of Colorado. They held the ceremony at The Sunrise Amphitheater in Boulder, Colorado. This location provided the perfect layout for both Justine and Erin to walk down the aisle together. It also had the perfect set up for them to see each other for the first time as they walked.
Justine and Erin kept their Colorado elopement small. Their parents and siblings were present. The big celebration with the rest of their friends and family was held in Kansas City a month after the elopement.
The two brides chose their date, July 7th, for a very special reason. Both Justine’s and Erin’s parents were also married on July 7th. Could be a crazy coincidence, but it felt more like divine intervention.
After the elopement ceremony, Justine and Erin signed their marriage license and celebrated with a shot on their shot ski board. In Colorado, they shot water. For their reception back in Kansas City, they shot tequila.
Everyone let their personalities shine during family photos. They were such a fun group to spend the day with!
While they had an elopement in Colorado, Justine and Erin still held on to a few wedding traditions. Including cutting the cake, a first dance as a married couple, and dances with their fathers.
After the dancing, we said a momentary goodbye to their family so we could catch some epic views. Lost Gulch Overlook provided the most beautiful views for Justine and Erin’s couples photos.
It’s the absolute best when clients feel like friends.
