Tessa and Alex had their beautiful wedding at Stone Hill Barn in Augusta, KS. It is a beautiful property with multiple ceremony spots and a house where you and your friends/family can stay for the weekend. 

The best part of the wedding day had to be when Tessa did her first looks with her dad and Alex in her hot pink prom dress. Tessa convinced her dad to buy the prom dress by saying she would wear it at her wedding, and it’s been a running joke in her family ever since.  So the fact that she followed through is just the best thing ever. 

One thing we didn’t think about before the prom dress first look is how bright that pink is and how the light will reflect off of it. Her dad could see the color change on the walls when Tessa stepped into the light so it gave it away a little bit. His face when he turned around was still so priceless.

 The wedding itself was beautiful. A lot of the time, couples get disappointed with overcast days. I’ll tell you from the photographer’s point of view, overcast days are the best! Overcast days make the colors pop and they make photos so much easier. The clouds act as a massive diffuser. The light is so even, no harsh shadows. So if your wedding day doesn’t get some sun, that’s okay!

There’s so much space to roam at Stone Hill Barn so the overcast day really helped us use more of the space for the wedding photos.
